Emails "From Microsoft" containing virus

Hi,

We all know that Microsoft doesn't send emails containing updates; These are
viruses from infected parties.
What I would lkie to know is whether there is any risk in opening these
emails, inspecting their contents/attachments under other O/S such as
Linux.

Should be quite safe. Heck, you can open and inspect the contents (with
a debugger, for instance) quite safely under Windows too, just don't
=execute= the damn things.
