Using Outlook 2003 is there a way to set up a Distribution List and send
either fax or email messages to everyone on the list?

We have about 300 customers we want to send updates to and some want to be
faxed and some want email.

Thank you.

In theory all you need to do is add each recipient to the DL. Outlook will
send the emails, then dial each fax recipient in succession. Most available
fax transports are not robust enough to handle more than a handful of
recipients before crashing. You did not tell us what fax transport you
intend to use.

Thanks. I hadn't even thought of a fax transport and don't know what one is.
I thought I would just use Windows XP Pro. Will I need something else in
addition? (Thanks for your help).

Well you can't email without an email transport, so you can't fax without a
fax transport.
You have two options for faxing in Outlook 2003, Internet Faxing or modem
faxing. The latter can use Windows XP Fax as its fax transport, but it is
not very robust at sending to multiple recipients. Plenty of information

Thanks Russ. Do you know if anyone has made an add-in for Outlook or Windows
to help with my dilemma? It seems to me that lots of folks would be
interested.
