Are you having trouble opening attachments, or downloading attachments?

If you are using Outlook Express, see if this helps
Goto Tools, Options
Then goto the Security tab
Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus"

In Outlook Express go to Tools, Options, Security. You'll find the setting
for attachments there.
