Email Signature

Hi there,

I have enabled the feature in my email (outlook 2003) so that when I hit
'reply' it strips out all past email history. The only problem is that now
my signature doesn't automatically insert itself.

I instead need to go INSERT from the menu then insert signature.

This seems rather strange for it not to insert itself, because my inserted
email signature is not PART of the past email correspondance.

This also happens in Outlook XP.

Any ideas? - Or do I just have to put up with it, and weigh up the pros and
cons turning off email history.

Thanking you,

Ro

Check Tools | Options | Mail Format to see whether you've enabled your
signature on all accounts.

Thanks Sue,

I have signature enabled for both 'new' emails and when 'replying' to
emails. I also have the correct email account enabled for the signatures.

My signature still works when creating a 'new' email. But as per my
previous email outlook stips out my 'email history' as I intended it to, but
it doesn't include my standard signature as it should do.

Cheers,

Rohan

Do you have more than one account? If so, you need to enable the reply
signature on all accounts where you want to use it.

I don't know what you mean by "email history."

Okay I'll try to elaborate more:

I have 2 accounts: 1 work, 1 personal

I have signatures enabled for the work account for both 'new' messages and
'replying/forwarding'. the Personal email account has no signatures
attatched to it. The 'work' email is the default account.

Email 'history' is the senders 'original' message.ie all past correspondance
prior to this response. I have turned this 'off' so when I reply to someone
eg: I reply to you, it strips out 'all' your previous email and leaves me
with a 'blank' email with your email address in the TO box.

The problem being, that it now doesn't insert the signature automatically.
If I turn the feature off then the signature works.

To turn this feature on / off I go to Tools::Options::Preferences tab::Email
options and change the combo box under 'When replying to a message' to say
'do not include original message'.

Hope this clears everything up.

Cheers,

Rohan
