I need to email a distribtion list that resides in my Personal Address Book
to another user in my network. How? Thanks.

Since Outlook has not used a PAB for nearly decade, you need to verify that
you are, and why.

Acatually, the distribution list is in my contacts, not my personal address
book. Sorry about that. I do use a PAB, however. Carried over from the 'old
days'.

First, lose the PAB and make sure all its data is transferred to a Contacts
Folder. PAB's are no longer supported and you may end up losing the data
that resides therein.
To send a DL to another Outlook user, insert it as an Outlook item in an RTF
message.

I tried that before I wrote to you, but all I see in the drop down are files.
How do I get to the distribution list to attach it? I need some instructions,
please.

Use Insert Item..., not Insert File. Location depends on your version and

Russ, I got the DL mailed, but now the receiver does not know how to import
into her contacts file, nor do I. More help, please.

When sent correctly, the recipient simply double clicks to open, then saves.
The DL will then be in their default Contacts Folder.

Russ,
I have read over all the different postings and am following them to a "T".

My problem is saving a DL that was sent to me via email into my contacts
folder. It was sent correctly from an Outlook user (in RTF and as a Outlook
item), we're both using Outlook 2007 and I still cannot get it to save in the
correct place.

please help.

-I open the email message
-right click on the DL
-I select option "Save As" (there is not a choice to save to Contacts as
described in previous postings that I have read)
-it then brings up the "My documents" folder. I move backwards in the
folders and select the Contacts folder.
-I then go to a new email message and select "To"
- And it's not there?

However, I did notice that on the left hand side column on my main Outlook
page; I do not have a Contacts folder under Personal Folders. Could this be
my problem? If so, can you please tell me how I can have it listed?

thanks

You can't not have a Contacts Folder. It is one of the default folders.
You're probably just using Mail view, where it does not appear.
Sounds to me like the DL was not sent correctly. You should be able just to
double click it and save it if it had been sent correctly.

with all due respect, as I told you before it was sent in a RTF format as an
Outlook item from Outlook Vista user to another.

Did you notice anything wrong with the way it was sent?
