Email Message opens as Black Screen

I'm using Outlook 2007 and every once in a while (Randomly), I click New
Message to create/type an email, and the screen opens completely black. The
only thing I can see is the Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons at the top
right corner. Everything else is Black. I can't type anything! When I
close the window, and try the new message process again, the same black
screen appears.

In order to create a "normal" email message, I have to close Outlook and
restart.

How can I fix this so 1. it doesn't happen and 2. I don't have to
close/restart Outlook.

It's possibly a display or system resources issue. Try updating your display
drivers.
If that doesn't help you'll need to restart Outlook or possibly close other
applications or reboot the computer.
 
Bill R, thanks for your thoughts but I tried updating the display driver and
the issue still occurs. My display driver is NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150.

This "Black screen" is very random and only the top bar of a "window" shows
on the screen...meaning only the colored bar with the minimize, maximize, and
close buttons.

Any other ideas? Thanks,
 
I see the same thing on Vista Home Premium Sp1, Outlook 2007 on a 2gb HP
laptop that came with Vista. Even when system memory use is at or below 50%,
it occurs.

"Reboot 5 times a day" is not a viable solution.
