Email Mail Merge a Protected Document

Help! I've made a Word form and used all the lovely features, drop down menus
etc and (for this to work) protected the document. Now however I can't select
Mail Merge to send to my form to my contacts on my access database! Any ideas
whether this is possible and if so - how??!
