email loss

Turned on computer and went to check e-mail and lo and behold, all of my
e-mail, the sent, inbox, deleted, etc. except for drafts was gone! How do I
get it back? Can I get it back? Wha' happened?
 
Where is your email held - in a PST file, Exchange Server, IMAP server?
What version of Outlook?
