Email images not showing

Emails I receive have suddenly started showing images as a box with that
dreaded red "X".
Settings at my ISP's webmail are to allow images, also at Spamcop which
filters my email enroute, and in Incredimail which I use here.
IE settings are all set to allow images too.
If a picture is in the body of an ordinary email from friends I see it, but
my "Daily Downloads" from PC World (among others) suddenly loses the header
and body html images.
So why is this suddenly happening?

I only use OE for these forums. Incredimail is my email client and it's set
to accept all images. Thanks for the help but itdoesn't solve the problem.
It's like my PC has forgotten what html means.

P.S. right clicking on the red "X" does not give the option "show picture"
as it normally would.
