Email Errors> no download of messages>error messages.

My email has been working just fine until today. I can't think of anything
I've done to create a problem. I'm using WindowsXP-pro-sp2; Outlook 2003,
and Norton AntiVirus 2005. The same problem just started in Outlook Express
as well. Was on the phone with Charter for over two hours removing email
accounts and then adding them from scratch. I've been trying for hours and
hours fix this to no avail--the error message keeps coming up and I'm
expecting some very important email.

The error messages will say something like these:

Task '(e-mail address removed) - Receiving' reported error (0x800CC0f) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues,
contact your administrator or ISP. The server responded: +OK 65412 octets'
And.
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop.charter.net'. Protocol: POP3, Server Response:
'+OK 1893 octets', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No. Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
Please help ASAP!
Thank you,
Stanford

Or an anti virus program has been configured to scan email. Turn that off;
your AV "on-access" memory resident scanner will protect you just fine.
