email document

I have opened an email document and made changes to the attachment. i
clicked the file icon to save it. But it is not there only the document
that was sent first with no changes. Any suggestions on how to find this
changed document.

Save the document before changing it.
Or
Use the document's program's File | Save As to save it after making the
changes.
 
It's somewhere in Temporary Internet Files. It would be like
looking for a needle in a haystack. This is why we frequently
remind people to save attachments, and to edit only from the
saved file.
