I always sort my inbox by date, however the date that it sorts by is not the
real date the email was sent. How do I rectify this problem?????

The Inbox usually shows the date received, not the date sent. Add the Sent
column by choosing View > Current View > Customize Current View > Fields and
add the Sent field from there. Then you can sort on the date the email was
sent as opposed to received.

Sorry for not being clear. Outlook 2007 BTW. I do want it to sort on the date
received and the date that shows on the list is not the date it was actually
received. When you click on the email and display it on the document viewer
the date sent shows up on the top of that side and it is correct. I just
can't figure out why the date on the email list doesn't match. And it isn't
the date that I viewed it or opened it either. A lot of the emails are
showing a date of this past Friday and I received and opened them over a
month ago. Still Confused......

OK I fixed it. It was displaying the date modified and not the date received.
So using your suggestion, I changed the Modified to Received in the custom
fields list.
Thanks,
Christopher
