email contacts

I want to know how to get my people in my address book to appear on left
side of email I am not seeing how to get them there under where it
says local folders Iam using vista and hope someone can help
 
Can't be done. For some reason Windows Mail wont let you do it.
You have to click Create mail and then click on 'to' to get to your contact
list.
