Having problem sending/reciving email with Office Outlook, ISP(Telstra)
confirmed all ok, Firewall/Anti Virus disabled, click on send/recive box and
icon bottom right quickly flashes sending/receiving completed and subsequetly
no error message appears. Have set up Outlook Express to get emails in the
interim - works ok. Very confused?

You dont mention version of OL - kinda important
Have you checked any View options?
Tried sending an email to yourself?
If you open OE that will recieve the mail

I have similar problem: able to send/receive e-mail from OE6, able to receive
e-mail in Outlook 2000, but can not send e-mail out. OE6 and Outlook2000
installed on the same PC, use the same ports. Very confusing. Also, tried to
send e-mail in Outlook to the dummy address - the message shown as sent, no
errors. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Rather than send to a dummy address, which in theory should result in an
undeliverable return msg, send to your own address.
Youve checked OL POP/SMTP settings?
Sent msgs settings; a copy to your sent folder?
You've checked View settings?

This is usually a failure to authenticate to the outgoing server.

I tried telnet the <sent_authcompany> 25 - it works on PCs with trouble.
However the ping by name or IP of the <sent_authcompany> by name or IP was
timed out on either PC (with or without problem). I see a problem, but I do
not know if is related. Ping of yahoo.com was ok. Tried to setup logging, but
it looks like it is unavailable in Outlook 2000. And, received "delay" of
outgoing message generated by the local (?- why?) exchange server (limited
use for local network). OE6 at the same PC has no problem with sent. Thank
you in advance for your advise
