email addresses not pre-filling

My email addresses do not auto-fill, even though that option is clicked under
tools/options\sending emails. How can I get my laptop that is running vista
to store email addresses I have either received from or have sent to
previously and auto-fill.

Is this a new installation of Vista or is it an existing one on which you
have successfully used autocomplete? If the latter, you may have a damaged
nickname file. Delete it and start over.
