Another problem caused by having to change hard drive. I saved all my email
addresses and now have them on disc as .rtf files. How do I get them all
back into my Outlook 2002 address book?

Why? Who told you to do that?
How do I get them all
back into my Outlook 2002 address book?

Are you saying that you have one rtf file for EACH address?

hmm from you response I am guessing clearly that was the wrong thing to do
BUT the whole thing died so it was a last ditch effort.

Yes I have each list of email addresses on .rtf and I have a horrible
feeling you are going to tell me to print it out and type them all back
in..........

Firstly, I'm interested as to how you actually exported Contacts to rtf
format - certainly outlook 2007 has no option to export to rtf format...

well in trying to recreate it I think I just went to the list in address book
and saved and .rtf was an option. Not the worst as it happens because i can
still cut and paste them back but had hoped to just save to disc and then
get them back to the address book when needed.

Interesting! Outlook 2007 only gives a text option to "save as"..might be a
longish work around...open the rtf file in Word - do a "Save As" as a plain
text file - open that in Excel, format it and save as a CSV file. Then you
should be able to import that into Outlook. (Depends on how many contacts
you have....)

Thanks for that, I just had a chance to try it. It works, after a fashion.
All info is now in contacts but I need to finesse it a bit. I will keep
trying as it does not seem to be usable as is. I am certainly closer than I
was before in trying to resolving this.
