email account reverts to localhost

My email account for incming mail server does not hold its address. On shut
down it reverts to local host and the adress is transposed intothe userid
field.

Why does this happen?

Why does this happen?

Is it actually a causing problems with receiving or sending e-mails?

If you want, you can disable the e-mail scanning function of your
anti-virus software's on-access scanner but if e-mail is actually
working then all you are doing is placating your need that the e-mail
account point at your mail server instead of at the local anti-virus
proxy.
