VS2005 Emacs mode copy/paste bugs are still not fixed in SP1 beta.
They've been reported to Microsoft since the original Emacs mode, but
it doesn't look like MS has much interest in fixing them. (Problem
reports closed for no apparent reason).

If you're using Emacs mode, how are you getting around the copy/paste
bugs? Do you have macros for remapping to standard copy/paste
commands?

I am not using the built in Emacs mode anymore since i discovered
XKeymacs.

Marc, Thanks for the pointer. I'll give it a look.

I waited so long for Visual Studio to get its Emacs (used to be called
'Epsilon') emulation back. I'd hate for it to die on the vine due to
apathy on the part of the MS bug team.

I'm also curious about those who use the standard keyboard mapping for
editing code. Isn't that a real drawback? You don't have convenient
cursor keys or delete, etc under your typing fingers. Emacs and other
editors at least allow you to type without leaving the main "asdf
jkl;" area. Also, when I move to another keyboard (laptop or another
brand of desktop keyboard), those keys are repositioned, so I lose any
reflex that I may have on my main development systems.

So how are others dealing with that? You take the hit on speed and
mental focus for the sake of having a more 'normal' keyboard layout?
