Eliminating the "None" Screensaver option...

R

Ryan

We use GP to restrict client's interaction with the OS.
We also invoke an automatic screensaver to come up after 5
minutes if inactivity. We have to specifically choose the
default and lock it out because we cannot figure out a way
to lose the "None" Option in the Screensaver Properties.
If a user were to choose "None" it would defeat our effort
to force security of unattended stations. How can we
eliminate "None" as a choice from this list? I check the
registry and could find no instances... Help!

You can't remove None, but you can use the Group Policy to force a specific screen saver. You can also use Group Policies to remove the Screen Saver tab completely from Display Properties.

I know what the GPOs do, I do not want to force a
"Specific" screensaver as to clients get bored of
the same one. Nor do I want to hide the tab. I want
clients to choose whichever scr they want however I do not
want "None" as an option.

Any MS Experts have any clues?

So far, AFAIK, no one has discovered the way to
disallow choosing None as the screen-saver, though
a number of folks have wanted this.
