Is there any way to eliminate the Puppy when using the search engine in
WinXP Pro?

Hi Greg

Right-click the puppy - 'Turn off animated character'.

Yes, move the slider down to where it says "change preferences". Click on
that and choose "without an animated screen character".

HTH, JAX

When you first open search look for "change preferences" from there I think
you can hide him.

Open Search.Click on Change Preferences.Click on "Without an animated screen character" for none or if you'd like to use a different animated character click "With a different character".
