Eliminate external xls links

Hello. I've often come across worksheets that I've had to
edit that at one time contained links to other workbooks.
After eliminating all external links, the worksheet still
prompts me to update external links upon opening. I've
gone to Edit>Links to see what is being referenced. After
searching each tab for such links and not finding any such
existence, I'm puzzled to why I'm still prompted for this.
Is there a fix to this?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Corey

Excellent! Thank you very much Dave! One other quick
question if I could. Recently, I've noticed that my
calculation option is somehow being switched to "manual".
Is there a hot key that I'm accidently hitting to activate
this change?

When you start excel, excel picks up that setting from the first workbook you
open.

If you're unlucky enough to open a workbook that's been saved with manual
calculation, you'll have to toggle the setting.

If you open excel and calculation is set to manual, then toggle it to automatic,
save the workbook, then close excel and reopen excel with that workbook and it's
still manual (lots of if's in that phrase!), then maybe it's your personal.xls
file that is set for manual.

(Sometimes those hidden files can be forgotten.)
