In Windows Explorer, the users' document folders shown in C\documents and
settings

suddenly appeared as duplicates in My Computer\.

How can I eliminate the duplicates?

Thanks in advance, Gerhard

Gerhard,

Those are not duplicates, but point to the same location.

Yes, but they clutter the view. One set is enough for me. Is it possible to
eliminate the other set?

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocFolderPaths
Backup the registry first, by exporting the appropriate keys you modify.
Delete the appropriate entry in the right-side.

Ramesh,

Thank you. This is very helpful advice.

I could eliminate this way almost all the “duplicate” user document folders,
but not the shared folder.

The only path left is the default. When I try to delete it, I get the
message:”Unable to delete all specified values.”

Ramesh,

Perfect. Now all the duplicates are gone. Thank you very much.
