I accepted the hard drive (c) configuration of a new computer. In Computer
Management the 0 drive includes the C drive and a drive, 7G large which is a
Healthy EISA configuration. Could I use the 7G drive ?

Is this a HP/Compaq computer?

This might be a Recovery partition and it is best left alone!!!
Check with HP if applicable!!

Hi,

I suspect that you mean EIDE, not EISA (the former is Enhanced Integrated
Drive Electronics, the latter I have not a clue). I also suspect that the
7GB volume is a recovery partition that should be left alone.

EISA=Enhanced Industry Standard Architecture bus. Extension to the ISA
bus that extension cards plugged into before PCI (and before USB).
Competitor to IBM's MCA bus. Consumers basically decided that neither
one was needed.

This person is talking about a HD!!!

Not a bus slot design!!!

I saw a Compaq that had Labeled the HD a EISA Healthy partition!!
It must be some sort of Recovery partition. I believe it was a hidden
partition and could only be seen in Disk Management.

How soon I forget....<argh>, completely slipped my mind, but I'm certain the
OP meant EIDE in this instance.
