When I didn't understand user account, I named the first
administrator acct a ridiculous name. Now I'm trying to
clean up my system. When I: right click Start, choose
explore, find Documents and Settings, right click name
I want change and get message "x is a windows system
folder and is required for windows to run properly. It
cannot be moved or renamed". How do I rename this
folder/user name?

I would try going into your control panel and there
should be a category called User Accounts. You should be
able to change it in there.

dj5249,

Try logging into your guest account, then

a.. Right-click 'Start' > 'Explore'
b.. Now try to rename the your 'ridiculous' folder

You are better to make a new Administrator account, under a sensible
name. Then logon to it and copy files across from the Documents and
settings\badname into documents and Settings\goodname. You will then
be able to delete the bad name account. You do need at least one user
account at any time that has admin status
