Hello!
I send the movies from my JVC to my PC via Firewire (DV-AVI format).
The question : How can I extract the sound track of a clip to edit it ?

Thanx in advanx!

Drag the clip to the audio/music track, and then save it as a WMA file for
editing in an audio software package. If you don't place anything in the
video track of a movie, MM2 will automatically assume you want a WMA file
instead of a WMV.

Hello again! (and thanx for answering!)

When I said "clip" I meant audio+video . I think I didn´t explain it well...
I download the Audio+video tracks from my JVC , via Firewire to my PC.
Then I usually edit it with MM2. Often the video is Ok, but I want to
remove (or edit as well) the audio.

Then my question is : How can I "split" the audio track of a AV clip to edit
it?

Thanks a million for answering!

Try dragging a clip (with video+audio) to the timeline, dropping it in the
normal place.

Then drag another copy of the same clip to the timeline, but this time going
over the already dropped first copy, and drop it in the audio/music track.
Don't drop it until MM2 gives you some visual clue that you are doing it to
the audio/music track.

Mute the sound of the audio associated with the video clip. Right click it
and select mute.

Edit the two video and audio clips the same way - split, trim, etc. But they
are now independent of each other for editing purposes.

Movie Maker doesn't give you more than what you are seeing, along with
relative volume adjustments for each audio clip. No rubber band type
controls or real audio editing.

You would have to save the clip as an audio one and edit it in other
software like Sound Forge. But, maybe you don't even need to first bring it
into Movie Maker to do that.
