Editing of comments - Excel will not allow.

I have a spreadsheet which does not allow me to edit comments created b
other users, by right clicking on the cell. Other users can only edi
their own comments. There is no protection on the worksheet o
workbook.

The only way edit will be allowed, is to Show the comment, then it ca
be edited.

Any help would be appreciated - thankyou.

Version is Excel 97
OS is WINNT
Compaq PC
no protection on cell, or worksheet
Comments are set to display indicator only
There are no formulae in the cells
There is no conditional formatting in the cells

If the workbook is shared (Tools>Share Workbook), you can only edit
comments that you have added since the file was last saved.

You can delete the existing comment (Edit>Clear>Comments), and insert a
new one.
