Editing Music Files

In order to help produce a "name that tune" contest in
the community in which I live, I need to capture just
snippets of several hundred tunes from commercial CDs
that I and others already legally own.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to learn how
to edit a music track down to just the few seconds of
music that I want to burn to a CD? I've seen someone do
this on a MAC, but I haven't been able to leqarn how to
do this on my XP system.

I infer from your reply that such tools are not packaged
in Media Player9.

Also: Someone wrote me about Blaze Software's
RipEditBurn. Do you have a comparative opinion on this
product?

I have never used it myself, but here's are a few user reviews for you to
take a look at. i do like Blaze's products though. you can always download
a trial copy and see what you think of it.
