Editing from Internet Explorer

Using FrontPage 2003, I usually go to a web page and use File>Edit from
within Internet Explorer to open Microsoft FrontPage when making minor edits
to individual pages. Now when I use that method I am getting the message

"The Web server does not appear to have any authentication methods enabled.
It asked for user authentication, but did not send a WWW-Authenticate
header".

I have had no trouble with this in the past. It appears to be machine
specific as my fellow workers can access the pages using this method.
Nothing has been added/removed from my PC since it last worked and
permissions do not appear to be a problem. I can access my entire web by
opening FrontPage and navigating to the appropriate folders and pages. I have
restarted our web server and uninstalled/reinstalled FrontPage on my machine.
Thanks in advance.

Try;

Open FP first
File | Open Site
and enter your url

see if that works.

Which version of IE are you using?

I am able to edit by opening FP first and it is not a big deal if I have to
do that. I have just gotten used to opening my website up from IE. I have
just upgraded from IE6 to IE7 which might be the problem. However, I have
been able to edit from IE7 several days before giving me the problem.
Another interesting twist I just discovered. It seems I can access some of
my pages through IE7 but not others.

There is a problem working with localhost sites after you install IE7
(repeated requests for un/pw)

Here's the fix if you run into that:

In IE7;
Tools | Internet Options | Security | Local Intranet | Sites | Advanced and
added localhost to the list.
