editing and deleting contacts

I tried to edit an email and it let me change the preferred email address and
click OK. But when I went to send an email to that person it was still the
old email address. I went back into contacts and the new email address I
changed it to is listed under that persons name not the old one.

After several attempts I got it to change but it still shows the old email
address under the autocomplete list of email addresses.

I have downloaded and installed the Vista SP1 Update and there was no fix
for this problem in that update.

Thanks,
Jean

The autocomplete function doesn't use the contacts list. Instead, it uses
a separate list of the last 29 addresses you sent messages to. This list
is very hard to edit; it's easier just to send messages to the 29 addresses
you want on this list.

If you'd rather use the contacts list, start a new message but don't type
any part of the address. Instead, click on To:.
