I have a PP that was sent to me by a friend. His background for the PP has
his logo embedded in it. I have his premission to edit out the logo and
insert mine, but he is on the road and I will not be able to contact him
until 4/29.

How can this be done?

Hello,
Choose View - Master - Slide master - select the logo - delete - return to
your presentation.

The problem is that the logo is part of the picture.

Do I have to do this in, say, Paint Shop Pro?

If the logo is really part of the picture, then you might have to do this in
a painting program like Paint Shop Pro. However, the logo might just be
grouped with the picture in which case, you might be able to click on the
picture and choose Ungroup from the Draw menu (on the Drawing toolbar).

Nope........not grouped, so I cannot delete.

My suggestion would be to replace the background picture with your own, or get a
copy of the one that was used (without the logo). Depending on the background,
trying to edit out the logo could be very unsatisfactory, no matter what
software you have, especially if it is a photo.
