Edit a record in a tab subform

I have created a multitab subform. When I edit the start
date field in form one it does not make the corresponding
change in form two unless I close and reopen the main form.

I have tried to create a save function on form 1 to post
the change to the under lying table but that does not help.

Is there any other way to update the underlying table with
the form open.
