What do you use your system for? Some higher end workstations and
servers benefit from SCSI but not most desktops. The SATA drive
interface is faster than IDE which can help boost peformance in RAID
arrays (not any faster in single drive mode). SCSI drives are much more
expensive than both IDE and SATA ones.

Depends on the physical HD, not just the interface.

The 10K RPM WD Raptor SATA HDs are faster than just about any EIDE HD. My
10K RPM Seagate Cheetah SCSI is faster than my Raptor. The 15K SCSI HDs are
faster yet.

Of course, price and capacity enter into the equation, so it's more a matter
of economics than performance for most home users.

I think you mean SATA, not SCSI. SCSI is only used in industrial settings
anymore. SATA is used more commonly on the newer motherboards than EIDE.
