Edge DiskGo! drive prevents bootup

I installed an Edge DiskGo! drive on my HP Pavillion 751x using a USB port.
I am running under XP Professionsl. The new drive works fine until I reboot
my computer. At that point the system freezes at the HP screen during
startup. To correct the problem I must unplug the drive from the USB port
and re-restart the PC. Then I attach the drive again after the system is
booted. Any suggestions as to how I can install this drive so I do not have
to disconnect it when I reboot my system?

Go into your BIOS and change the boot order, to boot from the hard disk
first
