EasyCleaner error?

CWShredder
Trend Micro Internet Security 2005

When logging on today I was directed to some gaming site or other.
Immediately ran CWShredder but was given a clean bill of health.
Have updated and run all anti-virus/spyware programs, nothing reported.
Ran EasyCleaner, cleared out registry and all unnecessary files.
Also, MRU and History but when I tried to clear temp files, got the message
"error not all files couldbe deleted".
Went into safe mode and all were reported deleted but when running in normal
mode got the same message.
While I'm typing this a pop up window has appeared with the URL:
http://popunder.paypopup.com/links....reeseeking.com/&os=W1&bs=I2&isframe=true&bk=2

Any idea how to get rid of it please?
Thanks

Hello,
I tried opening the link on one of my machines, but it won’t.

A pop up window opened & immediately closed.

The machine, on which I opened this link, is protected with Spy bot & Tea
Timer ON at ALL times, with the latest updates installed & system immunized
against 8236 bad objects. AVG 7.1 up to date.

My conclusion is that your OS’s Registry has been infected/changed.

It could be a spy ware (key logger, malware etc), Trojan, worm, virus or
what ever.

All Temp files could be deleted with no error message.

You have these options:

1. Run Spy bot with tea timer on in safe mode, removing all entries.

2. If that doesn’t solve the issue & you have a back up of registry while
installing spy bot, using its advanced option restore it.

3. Manual registry search & removal, but that is very tricky, coz tweaking
windows registry is asking for trouble, unless you have a backup of it, or
use a highly recommended registry cleaning utility.

4. You could try repair option using XP CD.

5. Personally if I were in your shoes, would either restore the OS if an
image was present or perform a format & than a clean install. Gives a peace
of mind.

6. A few recommendations:
a. Combination of Spy bot, Adaware SE, Antivirus is good enough.
b. But one should know the utilities in depth, their functionality,
usage, rather than having many.
c. Always have tea timer ON (It protects against any attempt to be
made in the system’s registry.), & immunize the system regularly after any
updates are installed.

Hope it helped.
Regards!

By the way did you try scanning with House call?
