easy question about MDI applications

Hello!

I read a book and it says something that I don' fully understand.
"Another feature of MDI applications is that if a window is open and that
window contains a menu,
that menu should be integrated into the main manu of the application".

Does this mean that you shouldn't have menu on the MDI child window or
does it mean that a menu on a MDI child must also exist on the MDI parent ?

So according to you will a menu placed on a MDI child be put on
the MDI parent when the MDI child is shown on the MDI parent window.

Is that correct understood ?
