I have a ton of inventory items listed vertically, and I need to create a
formula so that for each item, which only has a list price, I can simply
create a formula to get a certain percentage of the list price, which will be
our cost.
I need a formula so that the previous cell, multiplied by .5 (50%), is the
new sum in a dollar amount (rounded if necessary).

Thanks

Hi louis
If your info is in cell A1, in A2 put =A1*.5
However, if your percentage varies it might be better not to hard code your
formula and instead put your percentage in another cell and refer the formula
to it. e.g.
Put your percentage required in a seperate cell say D1
your formula would then read =A1*$D$1
This then allows your to change your percentages in D1 without changing your
formulas.

In any unused cell, enter your desired multiplier
Go to this cell and copy (Ctrl-C)
Highlight the range of prices that you want to change
Go to Edit/Paste Special/Multiply

Hope this will help you.
