None!

... as a NON-religious person I find it fascinating as to what the hell Eggs have to do with Easter.

Oh, and Diabetics aren’t supposed to eat chocolate. :D

Cadburys and Nestle made a pact ;) Infact, I wonder why eggs are so special too - I'm sure I was taught at school when I was about 5, but I can't remember now :)

If I remember I think its something to do with representing the ressurrection or 're-birth' of Jesus at Easter - people used to exchange real eggs they had decorated - now as usual its been taken over as a business opportunity, much like Christmas.

BTW, I didn't get any either......:(

Sorry ... but "Easter" has nothing to do with Jesus.
Under the definition for Easter in Webster's Dictionary (College Edition) one finds: "originally the name of pagan vernal festival . . . Eastre, dawn goddess." Further reading in an encyclopedia, or most books on the holidays will identify this Eastre with the pagan goddess known variously as Eostre, Ishtar, Semeramis, and Astarte. This is the same Babylonian "Queen of Heaven," whose worship is condemned in the Word of God (see Jeremiah Chapters 7 and 44).
Now, let me make one thing clear ... I AM NOT trying to induce or entice anybody in to a 'religious' war here. As I said, I'm a NON-believer and I really do find it hilarious how things get "turned around" for the sake of Commercialism.

Now I'm off to buy an Egg :D

I'm a non -believer and not religious either Mucks - but I can assure you Christians do celebrate Easter as the religious holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ - so for them I would say Easter probably does have something to do with Jesus ;)

But I agree with you that to most people its just an excuse for Commercialism!

And I'm still not going to buy an Egg.....:p

I have this one sussed.

If a relative asks you whether you want an easter egg or money:

Scenario 1: Egg. You recieve a nice big easter egg - Aero, Yorkie...whatever. It costs about £5.37 from Tesco, probably on buy one get one half price...

Scenario 2: Cash. You get slipped a tenner in a card.

I know now what to choose.

Not that i wouldn't like an easter egg... this is just usually the way things work!!

must go against u here Sir Mucks but Easter has everything to do witn Jesus Christ.

He was Crucified on GOOD FRIDAY on the Cross of Christ
And he rose from the dead on Easter Sunday (today)

Thats what I was taught as a youngster, so yes its right these Eggs are supposed tio symbolyze his REBIRTH from the dead!:)

p.s i just love cadburys cream eggs
how do u eat yours? :)

Tell me, why does easter egg chocolate always taste better than a straight old bar of milk chocolate?

I never been able to figure that one out
