East Asian Language Files

I'm having problems installing the East Asian Language files. I bought a
gateway computer, but I didn't get the Windows XP disc with it so It keeps
asking me to insert the disc. Is there any other way to install it? I think
all I have are factory restore discs.

Hi,

Do you have the i386 folder on your main drive? If so, try to change to
that directory when it asks for the XP CD.

Hi Zero One,

First, locate the I386 folder on your hard drive, it is probably a hidden
folder under C:\Windows. Set Folder Options/View tab in the control panel so
you can see them to locate it. Once you know where it is, click start/run,
type regedit and click ok. Expand the plus (+) signs to reach this branch:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

Click on that key, then look in the right for the SourcePath key.
Double-click it. Change the path here to represent the parent folder.
Meaning, if your folder is C:Windows\I386, enter C:\Windows. Click ok when
done, then close the registry editor. This should stop the system from
prompting you for a CD and use the local store.
