ATI Card Users
We are currently discussing with ATI the issues with BFV and certain
high-end ATI cards. As an interim solution, if you turn off
Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering you will have a much better
playing experience.

I thought the latest Cats addressed problems with BF:V?

Not for me, I still get some funny little corruptions on the vehicles when I
set everything to high. Performance seems a tad better with the 4.4 drivers.

The notes only mention BF1942, nothing about BFV

Two things here. I own a Radeon 9800 and have been disconnected from EVERY
game on EVERY server since I installed it 2 weeks ago. I have tweaked so
many things, that I *know* it is a BFV issue. Secondly, Radeon 9800 owners
cannot turn off AA and AF. We can only chose "application preference". Nice
one EA.

If you don't turn on FSAA/AF in the application, then it will be off.

This is not the radeon issue. The radeon problem is artifacts on vehicles.
Without AA/AS it should work fine. More likely based on disconnects from
every game is a punkbuster, or local firewall issue.

Dont you hate it when someone comes along and says they are running BFV with
2xAA and 8xAF on a 9800XT and getting no artifacts? I dont, coz thats what
im doing, using CAT4.4's and Radlinker. The 3D settings in ATi's control
panel are set to application preference, but then overridden by using the
Radlinker Tab in the control panel to set 2xAA and 8xAF (Forced). Inside
the game all the settings are up to high/very high, and not an artifact in
sight.

I don't hate it, but it didn't help for me. Nice tool but still get the
artifacts. They are not everywhere - try walking around a Phantom on Flaming
dart while looking just behind the cabin, for example.

I know, change my settings or dont use Radlinker to override the AA & AF and
I can see the artifacts like everyone else on the bridges, all types of
crafts, walls etc.

Can you do a screen print of the settings your using, or list them?

Are you creating a radink profile or changing te settings in the radlink
menu added to the ATI device menu?

Setting a Radlink on the .EXE file doesnt work, the first time the program
re-initialises itself the artifacts come back, and it also means you cant
start from the CD menu. Its necessary to set the Radlink Settings from the
ATI device menu.

The settings I use in the Radlink tab of the ATI device menu are as follows:

Anistropic Filtering: 8x Forced
Full Screen Anti-Aliasing: 2x
Texture Preference: High Quality
Mipmap Detail Level: High Quality
Z Buffer Depth: 16,24;8 bit stencil
Wait for Verticle Sync: Always Off

The in-game graphics settings are:

Display Mode: 1280x960x32
Graphics Quality: Highest
Geometry Quality: High
Texture Quality: High
Lightmaps: On
Shadows: On

That did the trick, thanks.

Weird, I don't get any of those setting in the Radlinker tab. Only
settings to overclock.

You have to create a radlink to a game exe first. Right click a game
exe file and select create radlink, now right click the shortcut file
it creates and select properties. See? Use this file to run the game
and it will use any of the settings you set just for that game.

Oops, I just went back and read what they said and they are saying
they can change radlink settings from within the desktop display
settings. I don't have that either. What's the secret guys?

Beats me I'm afraid, the menu option just turns up with all the other ATI
menu options. The one I downloaded was radlinker1006.zip.

I think its a recent feature, you may need to update Radlinker. As you
rightly noted just creating and altering the Radlinker properties for the
..EXE file doesnt work as you lose them when the game resets (between maps
for example).

Is there a way to keep the settings stay until I quit the game? Resetting
in game is annoying.
