I've created several powerpoint shows that I've inserted music on in MP3
format as a linked item. The problem is Im having is that once I E-mail the
presenation, the music in no longer present & I want to know what's the
proper method for mailing music as a hidden part of the presentation. Is it
linked, embedded or what?

If the music file is a WAV file it will be embedded if the filesize is less
than what has been set in PowerPoint and will travel with the presentation.
All other files are linked and must be sent with the presentation. The best
way is to put the sound file into the same folder as the presentation and
then insert it that way the links won't break when you send both files.

Floyd:
If the sound you inserted is large than 100k, powerpoint will build a link
to the sound as default.
When the presentation is played, the program goes looking for the sound at
the location described in the link. This works fine on the original creation
machine, but as soon as you move things to another machine, the links don't
accurately describe where the files are, and things fail to play.
So start off by putting the sounds in the same folder as the presentation,
and then inserting them into your presentation. This will create an internal
link with no real address: PowerPoint knows that the sound is in the same
folder as the presentation, and will look for it there regardless of what
that folder's name is, or what machine it's on.
