Are you using Outlook Express 6?
I am not sure if this will work. If not, can you give me more information
Maybe you have the 'Do not allow attachment to be saved or opened that could
potentially contain a virus' checked.
To check this setting:

Open Outlook Express
Click the TOOLS menu/OPTIONS
Click the SECURITY tab
Uncheck the checkbox that I mentioned above
Click the APPLY button
Click the OK button
Just to make sure, close Outlook Express & re-open it.
