e-mail won't send with a scan attached

I am trying to send an e-mail with a scanned 3 page document attached and it
will not send.. It just sits in my outbox
 
Please enable your send/receive progress window and advise what error
message comes up.

Also please advise your version of Outlook and your type of mail account.

Do you scan outgoing mail with an antivirus program? If so, uninstall your AV
program and reinstall it without the mail scanner and try again.
