e-mail screen comes up/no send button/ prgram?

I'm told that there is a free program already in my computor; all I need to
do is set it up. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thunderbird and
Outlook was mentioned.
 
Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer; Outlook is part of Office.
