What kind of attachment is it? For example if it's a picture it might
have the file extension .jpg and the system will open it with an
appropriate picture viewer, for other extensions other programs might be
needed and your settings changed to use that program. Can't really help
much without knowing what kind of file it is.
Attachments come in many forms. Documents, pictures, spreadsheets, etc.
Each file type requires a specific program to view them correctly, not all use the same program.
Unfortunately some users set one program to view these attached files and screw the system.
You need to be more detailed in your problem. What are the files names (including extension) that are giving you problems?
Do you have the computer set to show file extensions?
Do you know what file extensions are?
