Dynamic Web Template Question

I have created a Dynamic Web Template for my site Which, as yet has no
content. All my pages have attached the .dwt file I have created to be the
template.
This consists of a top welcome table with a menu bar in the header and a
logo in the footer.

I wish to make the entire body of the html document editable while the
headers and footers remain intact. Attempts to create an empty paragraph in
the body, right click and select "manage editable properties" to add the
paragraph have failed, resulting only in my title banner appearing in the
body of all pages and the body not being editable. Please help, what am I
doing wrong?

You need to insert an editable region in the DWT file
