Hi there,
I have a website with a couple of forms however when I aply the dwt to my
form the form will not work? It all looks fine but will not submit the data
across. The form was definitly working before as I tested it on my server. I
am sure it's probably a setting within my dwt, but not sure where to start
looking? Any help appreciated?

The forms on pages

http://www.totallytots.org.uk/mailinglist.htm and
http://www.totallytots.org.uk/Bookings.htm

will *never* work in FireFox or Opera. These are in VML text boxes, which
appear as images in FireFox - you cannot type in an image. In fact, every
page looks dreadful in FireFox.

See http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/tests/vml-graphics for reasons why VML
(text boxes, shape art, Wordart) should be avoided on web pages.

Thanks for the feedback -as I said I am a bit of a newbie to this although
have a technical background so am picking things up quite quick. Should I
recreate these pages without the text boxes? and then reapply the dwt?

oh my - what a nightmare - I just downloaded firefox to view my page, back to
the drawing board methinks! So instead of putting things into text boxes I
presume I should us the proper page templates when I design a new page. Where
as I have been willy nilly creating text boxes so I could drag everything
where I fancied!?

Thankyou for pointing this out.

Your pages definitely need a workover. Textboxes should be avoided. Also
avoid Absolute Positioning; this will also lead to tears until you really
know what Absolute Positioning is about - and then you would know not to use
it. If you can drag text around on the page, then you are using Absolute
Positioning.

The easiest way to lay out a page is to use a table. This may not be the
best way, but it is difficult to go wrong with tables.

I am redoing it as we speak - thank you, I never really considered other
browsers - a bit of a major oversight!! Hopefully that will fix whatever
glitch was messing up the form too.
