? - Dynamic to Basic with Partition Commander Professional 10?

Has anyone here successfully used Partition Commander
Professional 10 to convert a dynamic disk back to a basic
disk, without loss of any files or software? (I'm talking
about with Windows 2000/Pro.)

The company says it can be done; some professional reviews
say it cannot, others say it can; a few anecdotal reports
say it cannot. I'm looking for greater insight about the
process than the company's website or tech support people
provide.

Thanks.

If you have not used any of the features that are specific
to dynamic partitions then you can convert a dynamic
partition back to a basic partition simply by changing its
partition type, using a partition table editor such as
ptedit.exe. The process is fully reversible as long as you
remember what you changed and where you changed it.

So, I think you are saying you have NOT "used Partition

...."

I'm still looking for anyone who HAS done that.

I can't do what you suggest since I don't know if I have
"used any of the features that are specific to dynamic

drive was changed, by a company no longer in business,
from basic to dynamic. Besides that, I have no idea
what those features are.

Thanks.
