dynamic table

I'm using vs2005 vb.net.

I'm creating a table dynamically which contains about 40 controls.

The code executes very quickly, but after the code is completed it takes
about 30 seconds for the page to be displayed. During this time it flickers
badly.

Is there a way to prevent this flickering and reduce the time it takes to
render the page?

The page is displayed as everything is done in the load event.
