I have Windows XP and I am unalbe to open a dxf file that
I have downloaded. Help.

Well it's either an Autocad file or Micrografx. Do you have either of those
applications?

I believe DXF files are CAD files. You will need a CAD program to open it.
Is this what you're expecting from a DXF file?

The other two replies are somewhat correct. The
applications they refer to do use the dxf file extension
but they are not the only ones. For a list of what
programs may use this extension go to www.filext.com and
have a look. Keep this site in your favourites list it
will come in handy. They usually have many links to free
applications that will open and use the file extension you
are looking for. I believe there are presently about 6
programs that use the dxf extension. There may be more I'm
not sure. Keep smiling

That's where I got Autocad and micrografx. They were the only two listed.
