DWT and subwebs

I used to give other departments their own subwebs so that
they didn't interfere with the root web. Now I am using a
DWT for my web and continually editing it. How can subwebs
use this same DWT?

They will need access to the root web to access it, or create a page template in each subweb that uses it
- note the automatic update feature of DWT is unsupported under webs w/ the FP SE (only available in Disc based webs and under WSS)
